Utilizing an orchestral palate that initially wends from the bright, neo-baroque promise of “Icarus” to the foreshadowing bombast of “Hollywood 1927” before turning ever more angular, modern and brooding, Shore’s music increasingly gets beneath the skin of Hughes the man.
