Award: Newbery Medal


The John Newbery Medal, named in honor of the eighteenth-century British bookseller, is one of several medals bestowed by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), part of the American Library Association (ALA) . The Newbery is awarded annually to the author of the most distinguished American literary work for children in English. The author must be a U.S. citizen.
