Blog: Winner of the 2013 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize

The Guardian Review has announced the winner of their 2013 Children’s Fiction Prize. Rebecca Stead’s Liar & Spy was chosen by children's authors Andy Mulligan, Jason Wallace and Hilary McKay. The judging panel was chaired by the Guardian Children's Books editor, Julia Eccleshare. Young readers taking part in the Guardian's 2013 Young Critics competition—as well as members of the Guardian's children's book site—also had their say as they judged the longlisted books.

Here are the winner and shortlisted books:

  • Book:The Boy Who Swam with Piranhas
  • Book:The Fault in Our Stars
  • Book:Rooftoppers
