Orange Prize

The Orange Prize for Fiction is awarded by a panel of five women: usually one from the book trade (library, booksellers, distributors), one from the media, at least one novelist, one academic and one other high-achieving role-model. The author can be a woman of any nationality. The book must be a full length novel, written in English (not translated), and published in the U.K. The winner receives £30,000 and a bronze figurine called the “Bessie”.
