Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction

The Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction has been given annually since 1984 to a meritorious book of historical fiction published in the previous year for children or young adults.
The award was established by Scott O'Dell in 1982. He hoped to encourage other writers - particularly new authors - to focus on historical fiction.
